Position Summary
The Maintenance Engineer will act as a link between senior management and the maintenance team, serving as the primary communication channel for the flow of information. The incumbent will be responsible for planning, organizing, supervising, and directly participating in maintenance activities.
The Maintenance Engineer will oversee all installation, repair, and maintenance operations across ACE properties. This role is responsible for ensuring that the maintenance team has the necessary resources, tools, and equipment to perform their duties efficiently while operating within the approved budget.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electrical systems, plumbing, AC/HVAC systems, solar energy systems, and CCTV systems. The candidate should be well-versed in maintenance processes, health and safety regulations, and administrative functions such as reporting, budgeting, and planning. The primary objective of this role is to ensure that all ACE properties and assets are maintained in a safe, efficient, and operational condition.
Job Responsibilities:
- Plan and execute electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and plumbing works for upcoming projects.
- Develop maintenance procedures and ensure their effective implementation.
- Conduct regular inspections of company assets to identify issues and implement corrective actions.
- Inspect electrical and plumbing systems to ensure proper functionality.
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise all repair and installation activities.
- Allocate work and supervise the maintenance team.
- Monitor equipment inventory and place orders when required.
- Maintain adequate stock levels of critical spare parts for emergency repairs.
- Monitor maintenance expenses and ensure adherence to the approved budget.
- Manage relationships with contractors, vendors, and service providers.
- Maintain maintenance logs and submit regular activity reports.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Prepare preventive and corrective maintenance schedules aligned with organizational objectives.
- Conduct routine inspections of company assets to proactively identify maintenance requirements and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and training of maintenance staff.
- Ensure solar systems and generators remain fully operational at all times.
- Ensure proper maintenance of all company machinery, equipment, and tools.
- Ensure the availability of appropriate toolkits and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for maintenance personnel.
- Oversee and enforce accurate maintenance record-keeping practices.
- Generate work orders and maintenance requisitions, record complete job details, and assign work to qualified personnel.
- Inspect completed maintenance work to ensure quality standards are met.
- Communicate policies, procedures, and operational updates to the maintenance team.
- Ensure all maintenance work is completed on time, within budget, and without compromising safety or quality.
- Coordinate closely with vendors, outsourced service providers, and contractors to safeguard the company's interests.
- Monitor inventory levels of maintenance materials and spare parts.
- Assist in developing preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
- Recommend maintenance budget requirements for annual planning.
- Recommend upgrades, overhauls, and improvements to major building systems and equipment where necessary.
- Escalate staff-related issues and operational challenges to senior management.
- Participate in day-to-day maintenance activities whenever required.
- Ensure company premises comply with all applicable safety regulations and statutory requirements.
- Respond to and resolve maintenance service requests from internal users.
- Develop and regularly update comprehensive Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) inspection checklists to ensure quality, safety, compliance, and operational effectiveness.
- Develop, review, and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems in accordance with industry standards, safety regulations, and operational best practices.
Education
- Bachelor's degree (BSc/BE) in Electrical Engineering.
