Role: Junior PHP Developer

Role Summary

We are hiring Junior PHP Developers to join our growing engineering team. This is a great opportunity for early-career developers who are eager to learn, use modern tools, and grow with guidance from experienced engineers. We especially encourage candidates who are proactive in using AI-assisted development tools.

Junior developers should be curious and comfortable trying AI coding tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or Claude to understand unfamiliar code, generate boilerplate code, and learn best practices more quickly. We value a strong willingness to learn above everything else.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in developing PHP features and fixing bugs with guidance from senior developers.
• Write clean and readable code by following team standards and documented practices.
• Learn and apply PHP 8.x, Laravel fundamentals, and MVC architecture principles.
• Use AI tools to understand code, generate code snippets, and solve problems more efficiently.
• Write basic unit tests and help improve test coverage.
• Participate in daily standups, sprint planning sessions, and code reviews.
• Document work clearly, including code comments, changelogs, and basic API documentation.
• Continuously learn new technologies, tools, and best practices with support from the team.

Requirements

• 0–2 years of PHP development experience (internships and personal projects are acceptable).
• Basic understanding of PHP syntax, functions, and object-oriented programming concepts.
• Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript.
• Understanding of relational databases and basic SQL queries.
• Experience using Git for version control.
• Willingness and ability to use AI coding assistants as learning and productivity tools.
• Strong desire to learn, ask questions, and grow professionally.
• Basic understanding of REST APIs and how they work.

Nice to Have

• Exposure to Laravel or any PHP framework.
• Personal projects, GitHub repositories, or freelance work that can be shared as a portfolio.
• Familiarity with command-line or terminal usage.
• Experience using ChatGPT, Copilot, or Claude for coding assistance.
• Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS frameworks such as Bootstrap or Tailwind CSS.
