Position Summary

The Urban Draftsman & Site Supervisor will play a vital role in supporting the architectural team in urban planning and infrastructure design. With expertise in drafting, documentation, and site supervision, this position ensures the creation of accurate plans and layouts that contribute to sustainable and functional urban environments. The role requires precision, multitasking, and strong coordination with architects, surveyors, and execution teams.


Key Responsibilities
  • Perform both architectural and urban drafting tasks simultaneously.
  • Translate initial sketches from architects and urban planners into detailed designs.
  • Prepare comprehensive drawings, plans, and layouts for underground utility networks in road and infrastructure projects.
  • Utilize CAD software (AutoCAD) to produce precise drawings, including marking coordinates.
  • Conduct area calculations using AutoCAD and Google Earth.
  • Incorporate design changes and revisions promptly, ensuring all drawings remain up-to-date.
  • Organize drawings according to survey points and maintain proper documentation.
  • Deliver error-free work with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Coordinate with surveyors and other disciplines to ensure integration of underground utilities with project components.
  • Prepare as-built layout plans for all utility services.
  • Conduct site inspections and report deviations from approved drawings to architects.
  • Provide technical support to execution teams, architects, supervisors, and surveyors.
  • Prepare reports highlighting discrepancies between execution work and approved plans.
  • Collaborate closely with drafting and 3D visualization teams for project detailing.
  • Supervise site inspections and ensure adherence to drawings.
  • Train and mentor junior draftsmen.
  • Perform additional tasks assigned by management.
  • Create KML/KMZ files using Google Earth.
  • Convert international coordinates to local coordinates and transform KML/KMZ files into AutoCAD drawings with accurate georeferencing.

Education & Experience Requirements
 
  • Diploma in Civil Drafting, Architecture, or Urban Planning (or equivalent qualification).
  • Minimum of 5–6 years of professional experience in urban drafting, town planning, or infrastructure projects.
  • Proven expertise in CAD software (AutoCAD) and georeferencing techniques.
  • Strong knowledge of coordinate systems, KML/KMZ file handling, and conversion to AutoCAD.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality, error-free work under strict deadlines.
  • Excellent technical knowledge combined with practical site supervision experience.

Required Skills & Competencies
 
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and related drafting software.
  • Strong knowledge of urban planning and infrastructure design.
  • Expertise in coordinate systems and georeferencing.
  • Ability to multitask and deliver error-free work under deadlines.
