Position Summary:

Driven by a commitment to community education, accessible healthcare, and social welfare, this Laboratory Technologist role plays a critical part in extending vital medical diagnostics and support services to underserved populations. In this position, you will help uphold the belief that education enhances life, that affordable healthcare must be accessible to people located in Kharian City, and that nourishing and sustainable interventions, like free medical services, food distribution, and micro‑support initiatives, can empower local communities to thrive.
As a Lab Technologist, you will be responsible for conducting accurate and timely diagnostic testing, ensuring laboratory safety, maintaining equipment, and serving as a bridge between the clinical team and the community's health needs. Your work will make meaningful contributions toward a healthy, informed, and resilient citizenry.

Key Responsibilities:


Diagnostic Testing & Lab Operations
  • Conduct a comprehensive range of diagnostic laboratory tests (haematology, microbiology, biochemistry, serology, urinalysis) in line with SOPs.
  • Perform phlebotomy with care, ensuring accurate labelling, handling, and storage of blood specimens.
  • Safely and effectively operate, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain lab instruments to guarantee the reliability of test outcomes.
  • Deliver timely and accurate test results to clinical staff to support diagnosis and patient management.
Quality, Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with internal quality control (IQC) and external quality assurance (EQA) protocols as per national laboratory standards and guidelines issued by relevant health authorities (e.g., Punjab Health Care Commission, National Institute of Health) to maintain the accuracy, reliability, and integrity of laboratory results
  • Always adhere to biosafety and infection control protocols.
  • Dispose of biohazard and laboratory waste in a safe, environmentally responsible manner.
Inventory & Supply Management
  • Track and maintain inventory of reagents, consumables, and equipment.
  • Organize procurement and ensure no disruption in essential supplies.
Data Management & Reporting
  • Accurately record and maintain test logs and results.
  • Generate detailed reports on trends, anomalies, and usage for internal or external stakeholders.
Collaboration & Training
  • Coordinate with clinical and administrative teams to maintain integrated service delivery.
  • Assist in training junior lab personnel or interns to build capacity.
  • Participate in internal evaluations, meetings, and health outreach activities.
Ethical Practice & Confidentiality
  • Conduct all lab activities within ethical standards, ensuring patient privacy and adherence to local regulations.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and discretion in communication and documentation.

Qualifications & Experience
Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT), Clinical Laboratory Sciences, or related fields.
  • Professional certification (e.g., from a medical or lab regulatory body) is advantageous.
Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 to 4 years of hands-on experience in clinical or diagnostic lab environments.
  • Familiarity with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) is a plus.

Core Competencies
  • Solid practical and theoretical grounding in lab methods and techniques.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and precision in testing and documentation.
  • Strong independent work ethic, paired with effective team collaboration.
  • Proficiency in basic computing, including Microsoft Office for reporting.
  • Excellent organizational, time-management, and prioritization skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication in English and/or Urdu.
  • Adaptable and responsive in fast-paced or emergency scenarios.

Work Conditions
  • Position Type: Full-Time (06 days a week)
  • Working Hours: May include shift rotations and flexibility.
  • Environment: Predominantly laboratory setting with occasional cross-functional interactions.
  • Travel: Limited; mostly for external training or community engagement as needed.
