Senior Executive

ABOUT THE ROLEThe Senior Finance Executive is the primary operational owner of the Ireland accounts function — responsible for ensuring that every transaction recorded by the bookkeeping team is accurate, evidence-based, and audit-ready. The role combines hands-on financial oversight with controls co-design, management reporting, and systems co-ordination, making it central to the quality and integrity of Ireland's financial reporting.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIESFinancial Reporting & IFRS Compliance
- Ensure all vouchers, journal entries, and supporting documentation are accurate, complete, and IFRS-compliant.
- Review and verify financial records before submission to senior finance leadership.
- Own the evidence trail — every entry must be transparently verifiable and audit-ready.
Management Reporting & Metrics
- Produce regular management reports and financial reports as directed by the Finance Lead and Head of Finance.
- Track operational and financial KPIs; identify and escalate deviations promptly.
Bookkeeping Team Co-ordination
- Day-to-day oversight of the outsourced bookkeeping team — Accounts Executives, Officers, and Interns.
- Review team output; maintain quality standards and enforce documentation practices.
- Provide guidance, structured feedback, and on-the-ground problem resolution.
Financial Controls
- Co-design and implement financial controls covering:
- Vendor management and payment run-day procedures
- Reconciliation processes and resolution of exceptions
- Month-end and period-end close activities
- Other relevant areas as assigned
- Identify control gaps; propose and document remediation steps.
Systems, UAT & Process Improvement
- Co-ordinate with the software/technical team on finance system improvements.
- Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for system changes; provide structured, written feedback.
- Document and maintain process improvement records and updated control procedures.
Financial Controller Support
- Act as the key operational liaison for the Group Financial Controller.
- Ensure FC-level requirements — documentation standards, account accuracy, and reporting deadlines — are consistently met.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOREssential
- CA Finalist/ACCA/CMA Qualified; strong practical experience considered alongside formal qualification.
- 3–5 years of relevant finance or accounting experience
- Working knowledge of IFRS as applicable to an Irish privately held entity.
- Demonstrated experience supervising or co-ordinating a team.
- Evidence-based approach to record-keeping; high attention to detail.
- Comfort with in-house accounting / ERP systems and structured system testing.
- Clear communicator; able to manage outsourced and remote team relationships effectively.
Desirable
- Experience in money transfer, payments, or a regulated financial services environment.
- Internal Audit/Financial Reporting experience preferred
- Strong IFRS knowledge: primarily IAS-7, IAS 8, IAS 10/37, IFRS 9/15/16/18, IAS 16 and conceptual framework.
