Pricing & Margin - Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan - Full Time
About the Role
ACE Money Transfer is creating a new Head of Pricing & Margin role. You will be the group's pricing authority and will own take rate: the revenue ACE earns on each transaction, for every sending-to-receiving corridor pair and every payout partner. Our revenue is volume multiplied by take rate. Growth owns volume, and this role owns take rate. Both functions are measured on the same segment net-revenue metric, so they work as partners and neither can optimise at the other's expense. The role exists to settle a healthy tension. The volume side will push for sharper prices, and the cost side will push for wider margins. You belong to neither side, so you report directly to the Group CEO through a single reporting line. You will set prices on evidence, hold the margin floors, and answer for the fairness of every price ACE publishes to customers. You will lead a team of Corridor Pricing Managers, pricing operations specialists and analysts, and you will build and scale the function. This is a chance to design pricing governance for a fast-growing global fintech from the ground up. Your work will directly shape our commercial performance, our competitive position and how customers experience us in regulated markets.
Responsibilities
Commercial ownership and take rate
Own revenue per transaction on the pricing side across all corridors, partners and customer segments.
Manage corridor-level economics that vary by geography, including cost structure, local payment rails and the competitor landscape in each market.
Optimise revenue streams within the scheme terms that apply, and flag any growing dependency on a single stream to Finance.
Treat every rate and fee change as one decision. No change presented to customers as an improvement may reduce what the beneficiary receives.
Pricing rulebook and governance
Own the group's pricing rulebook as versioned, controlled configuration. This covers margin floors, tolerance bands and campaign pricing controls.
Run pricing changes through maker-checker controls with clear approval authority and audit trails.
Set up and chair a monthly Pricing Governance Forum that reviews performance, exceptions, competitor movements and proposed changes.
Govern promotional pricing end to end: design, approval, launch, monitoring, measuring the result and closing the campaign.
Competitive intelligence
Own ACE's competitor position, measured on what the customer actually receives (rate and fee together) rather than the headline rate alone.
Answer for the response to competitor moves, deciding when to match, when to hold and when to differentiate.
Feed daily pricing intelligence into group reporting so leadership has a clear, timely view of position and margin.
Platform and data ownership
Act as business owner of the group's pricing and rate-automation platform, including its classification logic, approval controls and roadmap.
Work with Product, Technology and Data teams to turn pricing strategy into reliable, auditable system configuration.
Design and scale pricing experiments and controlled tests, and report measured outcomes rather than claimed ones.
Conduct, compliance and risk
Carry conduct accountability for pricing under the UK Consumer Duty. This covers fair price differentiation, alignment between prices and customer disclosures, and good customer outcomes.
Involve the Group MLRO and Compliance at the design stage of pricing changes, not after launch.
Keep pricing decisions documented, defensible and ready for regulatory review.
Leadership and function building
Lead, coach and develop the Corridor Pricing Managers and the wider pricing operations and analytics team.
Build and scale the Pricing & Margin function: structure, capability, processes, tooling and hiring.
Explain pricing to the board in commercial terms, and work closely with the technical and product teams who implement it.
Deliver against a structured KPI framework covering commercial, operational, governance and people outcomes. The framework is agreed with the Group CEO on appointment.
Requirements Qualifications & Experience
8+ years in revenue management or pricing in a high-volume, transaction-driven business, such as payments, remittances, fintech, FX, ride-hailing, online travel or a comparable field.
At least 3 years in a dedicated pricing or revenue leadership role, with some of that time in a regulated consumer market. 10 years is preferred, but capability matters more than tenure.
A track record of managing distinct regional or corridor-level economics across multiple geographies.
Demonstrable experience running governed pricing, such as maker-checker or equivalent controlled change, pricing committees or regulated price-setting.
Essential: working knowledge of the UK Consumer Duty or an equivalent conduct regime.
Strong command of transaction economics: FX pricing, fee structures, incentive schemes, correspondent and scheme costs, and unit-level profitability.
Proven experience designing and scaling pricing experiments or controlled tests, with measured results to show.
Fluent in SQL against a data warehouse.
Comfortable with Python or R, or experienced in directing analysts who use them.
Has built or run BI and analytics tooling rather than relying on a separate data team for answers.
A degree in a quantitative subject such as mathematics, statistics, economics or data science. A postgraduate qualification is desirable, but capability matters more than certification.
Soft Skills & Leadership
Independent commercial judgement: you can arbitrate fairly between volume and margin, and hold a position when the evidence supports it.
Stakeholder management: you can influence the CEO, Finance, Growth, Compliance and Technology, and handle competing priorities with credibility.
Commercial acumen: you think in unit economics and net revenue, and you link pricing decisions to long-term value.
Structured problem-solving: you work from hypotheses and evidence, and you are comfortable with ambiguity and complex corridor dynamics.
Governance mindset: you default to control, transparency and documentation, and you understand why these matter in regulated markets.
Team building: you have led teams that include managers, and you have built a function from scratch rather than only inheriting one.
Clear communication: you can explain the same pricing decision to a board and to an engineering team.
Customer fairness: you are committed to prices that are competitive, transparent and fair to customers.
