Role Overview: Accounts Executive
The Accounts Executive will be responsible for managing, analysing, and reconciling financial transactions related to service providers and payout partners. The role ensures the accuracy of financial records, proper accounting of transactions, timely settlements, and prompt identification and resolution of discrepancies.
The Accounts Executive will collaborate closely with internal finance teams, external service providers, payout partners, and banking institutions to maintain efficient financial operations, strengthen reconciliation processes, and ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Transaction Reconciliation & Financial Accuracy
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations of service provider and payout partner transactions.
- Review and verify transaction records against internal systems and external statements.
- Identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies between internal records and partner statements.
- Ensure accurate recording of settlements, charges, commissions, fees, and deductions.
- Validate transaction processing accuracy and ensure correct accounting treatment of payout transactions.
Settlement Management & Partner Coordination
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of settlements with service providers and payout partners.
- Coordinate with service providers, payout partners, and banking institutions to verify transaction details and resolve queries.
- Assist in resolving financial disputes, mismatches, and settlement-related issues with external partners.
- Maintain proper documentation and records related to service provider transactions and settlements.
Reporting & Financial Analysis
- Prepare reconciliation reports and financial summaries for senior management review.
- Provide insights and analysis on transaction trends, discrepancies, and operational issues.
- Support the preparation of financial reports by providing accurate reconciliation data.
- Highlight potential risks, irregularities, and improvement opportunities related to financial transactions.
Accounting Operations & Controls
- Ensure all service provider and payout-related financial entries are accurately recorded in the accounting system.
- Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Support internal finance, treasury, and compliance teams to ensure smooth financial operations.
- Escalate unresolved financial discrepancies and risks to senior finance personnel.
Compliance, Audit & Risk Management
- Ensure reconciliation activities comply with internal controls, regulatory requirements, and financial policies.
- Identify and report irregularities, unusual transactions, or potential risks related to payouts and service provider charges.
- Assist with internal audits and external financial reviews when required.
- Maintain strong financial controls to minimize errors, fraud risks, and payment discrepancies.
Process Improvement & Automation
- Recommend and implement improvements to reconciliation processes to increase efficiency.
- Assist in automating reconciliation workflows to reduce manual effort and operational errors.
- Identify opportunities to optimize settlement processes and strengthen financial controls.
- Support initiatives aimed at improving reporting accuracy and operational effectiveness.
